I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to post this (I found this page via google) but I've got the same message appearing when trying to authorize the first Mass Effect game, on Windows 7 64 bit, the 'there is a problem connecting to the server.' message specifically.

Jun 25, 2020 · If you had not previously configured any customized DNS servers, to switch back to your old settings, in the window in which you specified the Google IP addresses, select the option to enable obtaining DNS server addresses automatically, and/or delete the Google IP addresses. The problem may be in your modem as well. If all of these solutions do not give any result, then rebooting the modem may work as the fix for you. Sometimes, modem does not work properly and rebooting it helps the user to connect to the servers properly. You may also reboot the system you are using to connect to the server.
