I tried to fix the 'no public DNS' once the EC2 was up and running, I couldnt add a public DNS. this is even after following the above steps making mods to the VPC or the Subnet. so, I had to make modifications to the subnet and the vpc, before starting another instance, and THEN start up a new instance. the new instance had a public DNS. Im having the same issue. 'DNS Probe finished no internet'. I'm running windows 7. I've tried almost everything I have read and know. Reset ip address, flush dns, reset router & machine, change network adapter dns settings, update drivers. The suggestions of ipconfig and netshset dns did NOT apply to this case.
