My experience has been that nortel VPN is very problematic with uverse. Its the way the uverse gateway firewall does packet inspection. If you work from home on a VPN be prepared for issues. I called them up & had the service installed & activated. The installation consisted of a special, proprietary, AT&T VDSL modem, a DC Power Supply, & a special, AT&T 2Wire Router model i38HG. I can connect to the box through VPN, however I cannot ping or RDP to any computer behind the firewall. Outbound rule allows source 192.168.60.0/24 (VPN) access to 192.168.1.0/24 (LAN), however I cannot ping or RDP to the server or any computer behind the firewall. RDP through the old router worked fine before the box was installed.
